Woodstream Church, Mitchellville, MD chooses l’Acoustics
Woodstream Church located in Mitchellville, MD recently upgraded the Sanctuary sound system with an L-Acoustics system provided by RCI Systems of Beltsville MD. Upon retaining RCI Systems to design a system for the Sanctuary, Bob Capotosto met with the audio staff to establish the goals and objectives of the new system. It was determined that the existing system while loud, did not adequately cover the sanctuary seating and did not provide the necessary clarity required for the services and various events.
After completing a Soundvision computer model of the sanctuary, a left, center and right arrays comprised of L-Acoustic SB18m subs and ARC WIFO speakers were chosen based on the coverage of the model. Six independent time domains were identified under the balcony and were covered by ten 8Xti and two 5XT speakers. The entire system was driven by five networked LA8 amplified controllers with custom presets.
After the final commissioning and tuning, the lead audio technician stated “you made my job easy.” In addition, a Yamaha CL 5 and an Aviom D-800 Dante were also installed. The Yamaha CL 5 was chosen because of the feature set and the projected longevity of the console to ensure a return on investment. The D-800 was chosen to convert Dante from the CL5 to the A-NET for the existing Aviom personal mixers.
